Image series 11 / 2023: Walk-in Sculptures

In the 1980s, the sculptor Erwin Heerich, together with Karl-Heinrich Müller, developed the idea of realizing his sculptures, which were mainly made of cardboard, as spatially accessible sculptures. A total of 15 architectures were created that house collections, studios, living and working spaces. He developed the rooms, which are autonomous sculptures inside and out, from the laws of elementary geometry.
Drawings, sculptures, models, built and unbuilt objects related to the theme of the walk-in sculpture as well as the walk-in sculptures themselves can be seen in the exhibition on the occasion of Erwin Heerich’s 100th birthday.
