Questioning the social role of the museum, the Belgian artist Marcel Broodthaers founded the “Section Publicité du Musée d’Art Moderne” in his Brussels studio in 1968. He then realised different sections of this imaginary museum, of which he was the director, as expansive installations in various contexts.
Marcel Broodthaers’ graphic editions are presented in a cabinet exhibition. Four aspects take a central position: the museum itself, the artists, the art market and the visitors.
