For many years, the Indian-British sculptor Anish Kapoor has been one of the world’s best-known artists. He works with forms, colours and materials that challenge us both sensually and intellectually, and repeatedly transcends genre boundaries. The themes of his sculptures include emptiness, transformation, immateriality, faith and passion.
In 2025, Anish Kapoor was awarded the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Prize by the City of Duisburg and the Rhineland Regional Council in recognition of his life’s work. To mark this occasion, the exhibition features 16 of his works spanning five decades, inviting visitors to open themselves up to intense sensory experiences and to consider the impossible as possible.
