A Fascination Dating Back Thousands of Years

The cat is a familiar creature, but despite its ubiquity, it remains mysterious. It has been a beloved creature for many people around the world for thousands of years. It is a versatile creature that represents something different in every culture, often many things at once: goddess and demon, cuddly toy and working animal, at the forefront of media technology and even an attractive internet star.
Historical artefacts and contemporary works of art in the exhibition shed light on how cats have shaped human life for thousands of years.
