Artistic trends of the time are reflected in the jewellery designs of female artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. They are always in close dialogue with the respective artistic practice of their creators. Some works translate conceptual approaches into wearable forms such as jewellery as an idea or memory. Others tell personal stories about identity, role models, closeness or provocation. Many of them are miniature works of art with an unmistakable design language.
The extent to which the female perspective can change our understanding of jewellery is the focus of this exhibition, which showcases 113 works by 45 internationally renowned female artists.
