Image series 15 / 2013: Emil Nolde
The multifaceted work of Emil Nolde will soon be presented in two independent exhibitions, which complement each other well. The one in Emden focuses mainly on the graphic work and the so called „unpainted pictures“, watercolours which Nolde created when the National Socialists had forbidden him to paint. The Moritzburg in Halle will open an Nolde-exhibition on the occasion of the acquisition of his “Last Supper” 100 years ago. There will be shown religious pictures as well as paintings created during his journey to the southern pacific and garden paintings from 1908 to 1918.
