With her characteristic style and unmistakable visual language, the artist Leonor Fini, born in Buenos Aires in 1907, created dreamlike scenes. This dream world is enigmatic and ambiguous – a fable-like realm populated by mythical figures. Fini moved in Surrealist circles but never wished to officially join the movement and always maintained her independence. Her exploration of her role as a woman and an artist is a central theme in her work.
Featuring around 100 works spanning some seven decades – including paintings, drawings, photographs and objects – the exhibition offers a comprehensive insight into Leonor Fini’s oeuvre.
