Image series 18 / 2016: Nature and Art
Ernst Haeckel's View
He wanted to show the nature itself as the greatest artist. The German zoologist, artist and philosopher Ernst Haeckel mapped the laws of nature in his illustrations and created with great care and microscopic accuracy sources of inspiration for art, architecture and design.
In the exhibition, his models are presented in the form of zoological and geological specimens, scientific illustrations and ornamental graphics. In addition, objects from the Art Nouveau collection of the house as well as classics of modern designs can be seen to illustrate Haeckel’s influence.
