Mountain Village and Climatic Health Resort

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the mountain village of Davos in Switzerland was transformed into a pulmonary health resort because the high mountain air promised a cure for the infectious disease tuberculosis. At the same time, the new potential of sports was recognized and Davos developed into a popular winter sports resort. It was a meeting place for all those of distinction in the European scientific and cultural scene.
Seven chapters in the exhibition draw connecting lines between medicine and spa history, architecture, winter sports, art and literature, philosophy and politics.
