With portraits the photographer Lotte Jacobi provided an authentic image of an era. Pictures, like the one of Einstein with leather jacket or Lotte Lenya with cigarette, have become famous. They are reflecting the 1920s in Berlin and – after the artist emigrated in 1935 – the world of the emigrants in New York.
An exhibition on Cologne is dealing with the hole range of her oevre and is presenting not only the portraits but townscapes and experimantal works too.
