Supplying data

The data of the integrated databases can be provided to prometheus in various ways.

  1. The database operator sends the metadata file and images on CD/DVD-R to prometheus by postal mail.
  2. The database operator stores the metadata file and images on a dedicated FTP server to which prometheus is given access. Alternatively, the corresponding files can be retrieved via HTTP from a (password-protected) directory.
  3. The database operator sets up an HTTP request for prometheus, which can be used to generate and retrieve the metadata file ad hoc if required. The images can be accessed in an analogous manner or via a simple link via the WWW.
  4. The database operator stores the metadata file and images on the FTP server of prometheus. Prometheus provides access upon request..

Option 3 is preferred by prometheus. The described provisioning procedures can also be combined. In individual cases, further data transfer paths can be discussed with prometheus.
