The sculptures of the German artist Isa Genzken are more than the sum of their parts. From 2000 onwards, instead of making sculptures from a single mold, she made assemblies of many parts that merged with their base or lay around on the floor. Among other things, she combines everyday objects as insignia of the consumer world with industrial decoration materials, with image fragments from popular media and personal photographs.
To mark her 75th birthday, the exhibition is showing 75 sculptures from all of Isa Genzken’s creative phases from the 1970s to the present day.
