With her media-reflexive practice and critical feminist perspective, Austrian media and performance artist VALIE EXPORT has challenged social norms and role models. She is considered one of the most internationally influential artists of the 20th century. Her multidisciplinary work defies all categorisation and definition and breaks through media boundaries and genres. In addition to her own body, it includes photographs, drawings, videos and installations.
The retrospective offers a comprehensive insight into the artistic work of VALIE EXPORT with works created between 1966 and 2009 and also honours her as a photographer.
