Image series 17 / 2024: Nancy Holt
Views through Tubes
Light, shadow, shapes and changing perspectives are key elements in the work of US-American land art, conceptual and video artist Nancy Holt. She has worked intensively with perception. In her best-known work “Sun Tunnels”, four concrete tubes are arranged in a cross shape in the Great Basin Desert in Utah and positioned in such a way that they frame the sun on the horizon during the summer and winter solstices and direct our perception towards the light.
Nancy Holt’s work ranges from installations, land art and photographs to video and sound works and is presented extensively in the exhibition.
