In his paintings Pierre Bonnard creates spaces – urban spaces, wild or designed landscapes, as well as interior spaces. A major role plays the different character of exterior and interior, of public and intimacy. The borders between them are often transcended with windows and mirrors.
The Fondation Beyeler arranged a walk through the different spaces by Pierre Bonnard: the visitor will stroll along the street, will steal a glance into the dining room and the bathroom and will finally look at Bonnards gardens and landscapes.
