Maritime Urban Landscapes

His interest lay in the urban landscape. The cool, elegant images by the Italian photographer Gabriele Basilico show modernity and its architecture in the most beautiful light, deliberately understated and devoid of people. They are characterised by deep and focused observation. Basilico would often stand in one place for long periods, trying to take in the landscape and observe the changing light before looking through the lens of his camera for the first time and finally pressing the shutter release.
The exhibition presents Gabriele Basilico’s quiet, deserted photographs of maritime cityscapes.
