Shortly after the beginning of the Russian war of aggression, important works from the Ukrainian Museum of Western and Eastern Art in Odesa were brought to an emergency storage facility to protect them. The museum houses a wide-ranging collection of art and cultural history that exhibits numerous similarities to Western European collections but is little known in Western Europe.
The special exhibition brings 60 major works from the Odessa Museum into dialogue with 25 works from the Berliner Gemäldesammlungen, divided into nine chapters.
