In her cinematic, sculptural and installation work, Stuttgart-born artist Nevin Aladağ uses sound to connect metropolis, landscape, people and animals. Her work references pop and youth culture as well as traditional lines in communities. In the video trilogy ‘City Language I-III’ from 2009, she presents an audiovisual portrait of Istanbul.
Around 15 large-format works, which are characteristic of Nevin Aladağ’s oeuvre to date, are on display in the exhibition on the occasion of her receiving this year’s Prize for Fine Arts from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts.
